analyze the ways in which it draws on the three discourses (material resource, esthetic, and ethical) described by Doremus

Doremus describes the “three principal discourses called into service” by “advocates ofnature protection” on p. 13. She further defines and elaborates on what she means byeach of these throughout her article.
For this short writing assignment, you will re-read “Not Another Information Dump,” a chapter from Tim Morton’s book, Being Ecological, and analyze the ways in which it draws on the three discourses (material resource, esthetic, and ethical) described by Doremus. You will also analyze the rhetoric employed by the author to determine whether the article “succeeds” as a persuasive environmental text. Draw upon both Doremus and Carroll (“Backpacks vs. Briefcases”) for your response.
This is a short assignment, but should be a focused and cohesive analysis. That is, don’t“laundry list” the attributes of the text you’re analyzing, but form a focused discussionthat guides your reader through your ideas about that text.
